Dhanteras photos have their own look. Gold and brass glow in the lamplight, a new utensil or coin sits on a decorated thali, marigold garlands hang over the door, and everyone is dressed in yellow, red and cream. It also gives an AI model plenty to get wrong: gold jewellery that melts into skin, coins that turn into blobs, and a Lakshmi-Kuber idol with a distorted face.
These prompts follow the same structure as the earlier articles. Each locks the face and hair first, keeps the deity idols softly blurred and respectful, names each object (thali, coins, brass pot, diyas), and gives each hand one clear job. Each has its own outfit colour and style, pose and location, and is labelled for couple, girl or boy.
What makes a Dhanteras prompt work
- Lock faces and hair. Say “face identical to the reference photo, realistic face and hair.” Heavy gold jewellery and a dupatta over the head make drift likely.
- Describe the objects separately. Name the brass thali, silver coins, a new steel or brass utensil, a gold chain, a lit diya and the roli. Say which one is in which hand.
- Keep idols soft and in the background. Ask for the Lakshmi-Kuber idol “softly blurred” so the face isn’t distorted.
- Name the light. Diya glow, shop-lamp light and fairy lights each give a different mood. Warm gold light suits the festival.
- Keep jewellery clear. Name each piece (necklace, jhumkas, bangles, maang tikka) so they don’t merge.
- Give each person one action. Drawing rangoli footprints, holding a new utensil, offering aarti, buying jewellery or lighting the Yama diya.

Photoshoot pose ideas to rotate between prompts
- Seated aarti together. Calm and devotional, good for couples.
- Holding a new brass pot. Close and cheerful, good for solo shots.
- At the jeweller’s counter. Candid and warm, good for couples.
- Crouching to place a diya. Quiet and cinematic, good for boys.
- Walking through the market with a coin. Natural and lively.
Tips for a more convincing result
- Use a clear, front-facing reference photo. Gold jewellery and a dupatta cover part of the face, so a sharp, evenly lit photo helps the likeness hold. For couples, use one clean photo of both, or say clearly that you are combining two.
- Describe each object and its hand. Thali, coin, pot and diya each get a mention, so they don’t merge.
- Keep idols blurred and respectful. “Softly blurred idol” avoids distorted faces.
- Name each ornament. Necklace, jhumkas, bangles and maang tikka each need a mention, with sindoor as a “thin line in the parting.”
- Keep coins simple. “A few silver coins” renders better than “a pile of gold.”
- Check the hands. Add “natural hands with five fingers” whenever someone holds a thali, pot or coin.
- Repeat the face lock if the result drifts. Add “do not change the face, use the uploaded photo as a strict reference.”
- Compare Gemini and ChatGPT. Gold shine, brass and small flames render differently in each, so run the same prompt on both and keep the closer likeness.
